Global - IPG Mediabrands has appointed Andrea Suarez (pictured) as president of world markets to lead operations across more than 50 offices. IPG Mediabrands said Suarez becomes the first Latin American woman to undertake a global leading role within the media agency industry. She is charged with leading operations for UM, Initiative and the newly-launched BPN in markets from Europe to Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. World Markets in Asia include Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Korea. In 2011 Suarez took on the role of COO, World Markets, IPG Mediabrands and prior to that she held the position of president, UM for Latin America. Throughout her career, Suarez has held key positions in marketing research, brand marketing, account management and new business development during her tenure at major global companies such as Omnicom Media Group, British American Tobacco, VW and Audi. IPG Mediabrands clients include Coca-Cola, L'Oreal, Unilever, AB Inbev, Microsoft, and MasterCard.
