SHANGHAI – Havas Creative Group(汉威士创意集团) has officially announced to promote local creative Ben Sun (孙二黑) to Chief Creative Officer for its Shanghai office in this week.

There historically have been creative silos within Havas Creative Group, to serve their vast portfolio of clients, in last five years. And, the agency decided to shift towards fewer but more sizeable clients. "It's important that we give our creative department one voice, and one head." said by Alex Sehnaoui in internal announcement.

Sun is most-currently a Creative Partner at Havas Worldwide Shanghai since August 2013, and has worked at the agency for near a decade.

He has worked on clients included Jaguar, Evian, DS, Chivas and so on, and plays a key role to win new business such as Dongfeng Citroën.

He will lead the whole creative department at Shanghai, and will responsible for creative outputs, increasing creative recognition and attracting talents.

Prior to Havas Worldwide (formerly known as Euro RSCG), he had stints at TBWAShanghai as CW/SCW.

Havas Creative Group is composed of Havas Worldwide and Arnold Worldwide in Shanghai, and there're two ECDs- Maurice Yang and Yang Shangyong, who was just promoted to the role this year.

In this July, Tif Wu and Simone Zhang (couple) departed from Havas Worldwide as Creative Partner and Chief Strategy Officer respectively (Both join buzzed Leo Digital Network). Li Zheng another Creative Partner, had joined in DDB Shanghai in 2014. In other side, Jowell See, a longtime RSCGer had also resigned from Arnold Shanghai as GM in later 2014.

Sun's promotion is another legible sign of local creative's evolution within traditional or mainstream 4A creative agencies in mainland. In these two years, there're more and more local get a ride of top gig
