APAC- DDB Group has appointed Daniel Simon as chief operating officer for Asia, effective January 2013. He will be based out of Singapore and report directly to John Zeigler, chairman and CEO of DDB Group Asia Pacific, India and Japan. Prior to DDB, Simon was chief operating officer Asia for Mediabrands from 2011 May. "In a world where media is a critical part of our clients' needs, Daniel brings a wealth of insight and experience to DDB," Zeigler said. "As we build new team structures to deliver total business solutions for our clients that are imbedded in creativity and humanity, Daniel will help keep DDB at the forefront of media connectivity." Simon joined UM in 2006 as chief financial officer for Asia Pacific and moved to Mediabrands Asia Pacific when it was established in 2008. Before UM, he was with Saatchi & Saatchi.
