Engine, the UK's largest privately-owned communications group, has acquired FlipScript China(泛世广告互动营销), a young and fast growing Shanghai based digital and social agency.
FlipScript are focused on digital strategy and creative development, social marketing and mobile solutions. Current clients include Tourism Australia, Crocs, Starbucks, Moncler, New Balance, Bally and Kate Spade New York. It was founded in 2008 in Shanghai, China, and employs 52 staff, mostly Chinese nationals. Alpha Xu and Wong Kian Fong, co-founders of FlipScript, will continue to lead the business.
The acquisition will enhance Engine's offering in China and allow Engine to create a social/digital micro-network with FlipScript, Deep Focus (Engine's New York based digital and social media agency) and Jam (Engine's London based digital and social media agency) working closely together. FlipScript will initially be renamed Deep Focus/FlipScript to reflect this.
Alpha Xu and Wong Kian Fong, co-founders of FlipScript said, "Having successfully grown our business and developed our client list in China now was the logical time to partner with a like-minded digital company, to spearhead the next phase of our growth. Our team is really looking forward to being part of a larger global force and the potential that brings."
David Liu(刘毓慈), Chief Executive of Engine Asia said, "Following the acquisition of FlipScript, Engine will have further strengthened its platform in China and will now have four businesses; FlipScript, Calling Brands, DNA (a video/film production house) and the recently acquired MHP Hong Kong (formerly The Consultancy).
"FlipScript will share our new Shanghai offices with Calling Brands and DNA, making a total of over 100 Engine staff in China (including MHP Hong Kong)," Peter Scott, Chief Executive of Engine Group said.
